Over thirty years of hydro-geological and geological experience is used to assess, test and design geothermal systems, their heat sources and to minimize construction costs. This experience is used to refine and often maximize the computer designed systems output. While computer program designs are generally applicable, the data input from local soil, geological and hydrogeological conditions allow the proposed system to be maximized to actual site conditions, to reduce construction costs, and maximize ground heat recovery.
ARC Geobac undertakes ground profiling for: soil types, thickness and variations; thermal conductivity; water table conditions; and layout design. Ground loop systems often fail or provide insufficient heating and cooling transfer due to poor initial soil or bedrock characterization.
For vertical open ground systems, ARC Geobac undertakes: complete EIA requirements, test pumping for open well systems as required by Provincial regulation; and recommends design specifications and spacing for the source and discharge wells. In closed loop systems we provide all services including a turn key approach to deliver the design heating/ cooling requirements to the foundation wall.
Using our own thermal coefficient testing equipment we provide the design input data required by commonly used computer programs. This service is supported by an extensive experience background in geological investigation, evaluation, assessment and knowledge.
