SPECIALIZED SERVICES:
Forensic Investigation
ARC Geobac has acted as an expert in and undertaken forensic investigations
for environmental contamination problems. These investigations involve
the determination of responsible parties, contaminant sources, pathways
of escape and movement, historic factors causing or governing the
presence of the contaminant in the environment and the potential
impacts present and future. These investigations are often intrusive
where sampling is conducted with the possibility of legal action
to follow.
SPECIALIZED SERVICES:
Mediation and Cost Analysis
In certain environmental contamination cases the intervention of
mediation can bring two opposing parties together to solve an impasse.
Experienced ARC Geobac professionals act as impartial environmental
experts to assess: the impacts of projects; the proposed remedial
approaches; the costs associated with cleanup; the correctness of
property decontamination; the division of responsibility for costs;
and other difficult to determine environmental solutions. This approach
to obtaining a solution to an environmental settlement impasse may
be undertaken with the cooperation of other experts in the insurance
and legal fields.
SPECIALIZED SERVICES:
Salt Water Supply Development
ARC Geobac personnel have, for the aquaculture and fish processing
industries, located, designed and developed salt water supply sources
primarily used for process water. Both wells and galleries have
been constructed as the prime source of clean salt water. Typically,
exploration and development follows a detailed assessment of the
needs of the industrial plant, the shoreline geology and the potential
impact of utilizing a salt water source in relation to the often
nearby fresh water deposits. Water quality assessment is also undertaken
as is the security of the supply from contamination.
SPECIALIZED SERVICES:
Salt Water Intrusion
Shoreline development for hotels, cottages, industry and municipalities
may encounter the intrusion of salt or brackish water into their
fresh water supply, due to excessive water use, over-development
of the resource, well or supply intake location and development
and/or construction practices. ARC Geobac undertakes studies to
resolve these problems and restore the original supply. Further
development of the fresh water resources can be planned to prevent
future problems; existing salt intrusion may be reversed and development
of infrastructure and housing can be planned.
