SUPPLY DEVELOPMENT PROTECTION AND QUALITY
ARC Geobac personnel have significant experience in the development
and use of groundwater both for fresh and salt water supplies. Construction
is undertaken after initial exploration and investigative studies.
The physical, health and economic factors determining the supply
source, development, design and construction are assessed and alternatives
investigated. Appropriate water supply location and construction
design is determined. Construction supervision and water supply
source testing, both for water quality and quantity is completed.
Well design is determined following initial mapping and field exploration
studies followed by test drilling. The well designs will be based
upon the depth and area of the aquifer to be exploited, potential
for increasing supply in the future, well protection and groundwater
quality. Should it be required, water treatment options will be
provided. Well field protection plans can be developed based upon
computer modeling and field verification.
Surface water supplies are developed, following determination of
availability of water quantity, investigation of water quality on
a long-term basis, design considerations for in-take or water capture
and transport of water to users. River and other surface water sources
may be exploited using intake pipes, infiltration or in-take galleries
both in the river bottom, river bank or through an artificial in-take
filter created adjacent to the river.
